An evening of “Raabta”

As a team, we collectively believe in one thing, encouraging those who wish to nurture and develop themselves. For this purpose, the team of Sangamwasi, very recently, collaborated with the team of Arz hai, a budding new group, to organize an open mic and to welcome an Allahabadi artist presently working in Mumbai for the motivation of young artists. On the 27th of January, 2018, us together with the team of Teashala, The Factory, and of course Arz Hai organized, Raabta.

Punarvasu, the invitee presented in his unique style his poems and folk music, along with some songs written and composed by him. His support team consisted of very young and talented new artists, Alan on the Tabla, Muzzamil on the guitar, and Akash on the keyboard.

Many budding poets and students participated in the open mic including some of the members of Arz Hai. Ahmed, the youngest and one of the most active members of the team, and always ready to be connected with music also presented songs at last minute requests. Aayushi, a friend of the team being a sport agreed to anchor the event with her jovial and zestful words. Savinay, behind-the-curtains and an extremely impactful member of the team was constantly there to support with his technical skills.

Among a bag full of young people, there also were two very young at heart guests, Dr. Shamenaz Sheikh and Prof Lalit Joshi who involved themselves with the rest of the team with a lot of love and support. The evening was one where everyone relaxed and enjoyed the day, the music, the poetry, and the company.

The team of Sangamwasi looks forward to many such more events and to see the people of the city and of other cities as well move on ahead uninhibited and do what they wish to.
