What is India without people like Shree Lal Bahadur Shastri and Mahatma Gandhi?

It was only a few days back, when a friend of mine was talking about his grandfather. He was narrating an incident and brought up something I was not aware of. His grandfather had been along side of Mahatma Gandhi during the struggle for freedom. That man, my friend’s grandfather, his baba, was a resident of Sangam.

Shree Lal Bahadur Shastri, a dearly loved personality and the second prime minister of India, in his journey of life, had had a stop at Sangam to work and explore life. This friendly face that helped in shaping the free India had also taken a little something from Allahabad and given back in multiple to the country!

Remembering their strong and wonderful spirits today on the 2nd of October, 2017, we at Sangamwasi salut them!

I am a teacher of Psychology by day and a writer by night. I was born in Allahabad, and have lived here ever since. This city has nurtured me, groomed me, loved me and infuriated me at times as well. I owe much to her. I am a passionate writer, poet and learner of a few other modes of expression like photography and would like, some day, to be known by these. I want to live it all.
